THE ELEGANCE OF A CRUISE LINER FROM TIMES GONE BY, FRAMED BY TROPICAL SURROUNDS AND TAHITI’S ANCIENT HERITAGE.

A luxury liner that has ended its days in a tropical garden paradise. This was the analogy that inspired the French designer of the newly refurbished Sofitel Tahiti.
Located on the west coast of the island, the resort features 216 stylishly appointed rooms, each with private balcony and many with spectacular views to the mountains, or across the lagoon towards the island of Moorea.
Facilities include 2 restaurants, a bar, tennis courts, golf driving range, fresh water swimming pool and private beach.
A stylish and evocative interior design now pervades at the recently refurbished Sofitel Tahiti Resort. French designer, Isabelle Maffrey, drew inspiration from comparing the resort to a beautiful luxury cruise liner that has ended its course in the gardens.
Located on the only natural white sand beach in Tahiti, the resort embraces its own moon-shaped curve of beach on secluded Maeva Bay, facing a deep water lagoon dotted with colourful yachts.
Evoking a casual elegance, intricate artistry blends with natural materials. Large windows framing views of the pool and lagoon allow natural light to fill the interior, while traditional carved totem poles take pride of place in the reception area, providing a strong link to the island’s cultural heritage.
Built to represent a terraced Mayan pyramid, the Sofitel’s 216 guest rooms offer stylish contemporary furnishings with all the latest modern comforts including internet connection and satellite TV – and all boast private balconies overlooking the gardens, pool, lagoon or mountains.
A range of leisure activities are on offer from tennis to a golf driving range, a dive centre and a host of water sports – or you can simply relax by the pool or soak up the sun from a hammock in the gardens.
Sofitel’s two restaurants offer a choice of traditional or international dishes, as well as Japanese cuisine featuring the freshest locally caught seafood.
